2 out of 3 game guidance: head-to-head game selection will be random (SD VFW Baseball may make adjustments as required, i.e., deference given to local leagues teams, such as I-29, playing SD VFW Baseball rules will not play each other unless mathematically impossible); first host will be randomly selected; games will be played IAW SD VFW Baseball Rules; Schedule: Double header first night and if game on the second. Tuesday will be rain make-up day/rest. Last chance, seeds 1-6 single elimination bracket play to determine the #7 seed for the State Tournament. Games will start Wednesday, 7/30. The last chance #1 seed will host seeds 4 & 5 and last chance #2 seed will host 3 & 6. The first games should start at 5 PM with the second game following 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first. The final Two last chance teams should play at a neutral location if the distance between the two is greater than 90 minutes. If less than 90 minutes, the higher seed hosts. This will allow for a 10 AM game on Saturday morning if rain delays impact earlier play. Hosts are always responsible for the items assigned in the Region Host Checklist. Last chance bracket and State tournament seeding will be determined by the VFW Rules Pool Play Tie Breaker Process. SD VFW Baseball State tournament host will not play in the 2 out of 3 process. SD VFW Baseball State Tournament Host does not play until the State Tournament. The State Tournament Host will be seeded 8.
