Sioux Falls (January 16, 2024) – Department of SD VFW Baseball Chairman, Danny Frisby-Griffin, released the host sites for the 2024 SD VFW State Tournament Season. During the 6 weeks of the season, approximately 7 July to 12 August, teams and players will participate in at least 16 regional and 10 state tournaments across the 5 age divisions and 2 classes.

The Department of SD VFW Baseball revealed the following host locations for the 65th anniversary year:

8U (division determined by rank order from pool play)

12U: 7/12-14/2024: Humboldt (WCBA)

10U: 7/19-21/2024: Vermillion

14U: 7/26-28/2024: Dakota Valley (Regions should be completed by 7/18)

16U: 8/9-11/2024: OPEN (Regions should be completed by 8/2)

Class B

12U: 7/12-14/2024: OPEN

10U: 7/19-21/2024: OPEN

14U: 7/26-28/2024: Garretson (Regions should be completed by 7/18)

16U: 8/9-11/2024: Platte Geddes (Regions should be completed by 8/2)

“We’re celebrating our 65th year of VFW Baseball this season and we’re continuously innovating our program to ensure the players, families and coaches have a positive experience. The 2024 SD VFW Baseball Rules as discussed and approved at this year’s annual meeting have been posted to the website. The Department of SD VFW Baseball is one of only 3 Departments (states) across the nation that continues the tradition of providing youth VFW Baseball opportunities.

The Department of SD VFW and VFW Baseball would like to congratulate all host locations and are looking forward to another great summer of SD Baseball! However, we’re still looking for hosts to hold our open tournaments posted above. Let’s play some baseball!!!!

3. Class A and B 14U: 7/25-27/2025 (Regions should be completed by 7/17)
4. Class A and B 16U: 8/8-10/2025 (Regions should be completed by 8/1)
5. 16U All Star Game and Showcase: 8/17 2-7 PM

3. Class A and B 14U: 7/24-26/2026 (Regions should be completed by 7/16)
