13-14 Year Old Team Entry and Roster Form 2011
(One Team Per Form)

Classes

VFW Baseball 13-14 year old Class AA Majors, AA Minors, A and B will be determined by using the South Dakota High School Athletic Associations enrollment figures as a guide. State Baseball officials will set the enrollment figures for the four classes. (Read Rule #3, General Rules). Teams with South Dakota VFW Baseball Varsity Teams may or may not be in the same classifications as their 13-14 year old teams. Classifications will be determine by school enrollment and other factors that may change for each team’s situation. (Read Rule #6, 13-14 Year Old Regulations)

Eligibility

Competition is open to boys or girls who are 13 and 14 years of age. A boy or girl who has reached his or her 15th birthday before May 1st of the current year is ineligible for the VFW 13-14 year old baseball program. A boy or girl who is under 13 years of age may play if permission is secured from the regional commissioner prior to the time of play. His or her name must be on the state roster. Team must be sanction according SD VFW Baseball Rules. (Eligibility Rule #5)

Team Entry Form, Entry Fee, and Team Roster Form

For 13-14 year old Baseball team to be eligible for any tournament play they must submit a $125.00 Entry Fee, 13-14 year old Team Entry Form and Team Roster form to VFW Department Headquarters, 3601 South Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57105 postmarked on or before June 10th. Checks to be payable to: State of South Dakota VFW. Team roster forms must include the name of the player, complete address of the player, name of school attended the last school year and date of birth. If this information is incomplete, it can affect the eligibility of the player. You may list up to 25 players per team. Team insurance is mandatory and a copy is required to be file with VFW Headquarters along with your team entry form and roster.

Tournaments

All league and regional tournaments shall be either single or double elimination with the decision to be made by the coaches and regional commissioner involved. The 13-14 year old A or B State Tournaments shall be single elimination. All registered teams must play in a qualifying regional tournament. The 13-14 year old A and B State tournament consists of one or two teams from each region, host region will have a host team. The AA Varsity State Tournament format is pool play divide into a major and minor class.

(Entry Fee, Team Entry Form, and Team Insurance form should be postmarked on or before June 10th and sent to VFW State Headquarters. If entry fee and other information are received after June 10th or are postmarked after June 10th, the Team Entry Fee will increase by $25.00 and will be $150.00 per team. We recommend you make copies for your own records. It is required that you have your team roster and copies of the date of birth records for each player who will participate in the state tournament to be present at these games.)
