10 and Under Team Entry and Roster Form 2012

Classes

VFW Baseball 10 and Under Class AA Majors, AA Minors, A and B will be determined by using the South Dakota High School Athletic Associations enrollment figures as a guide. State Baseball officials will set the enrollment figures for the four classes.(Read Rule #3, General Rules and Rule #1, 10 and Under Regulations)

AA Majors Division is All-Star/Travel Teams of 10 yr olds. AA Minors Division is All-Star/Travel teams of 9 yr olds. A baseball organization must field a team in the AA Majors divsion before a team will be considered for the AA Minors division.
There may be other factors for classifying a team. For example: filling a tournament bracket, a league team playing up, etc.

Eligibility

Competition is open to boys or girls who are 10 and under years of age. A boy or girl who has reached his or her 11th birthday before May 1st of the current year is ineligible for the VFW 10 and under year old baseball program. Team must be sanction according SD VFW Baseball Rules. (Eligibility Rule #5)

Team Entry Form, Entry Fee, and Team Roster Form

For a 10 and under year old Baseball team to be eligible for any tournament play they must submit a $125.00 Entry Fee, 10 and under year old Team Entry Form and Team Roster form to VFW Department Headquarters, 3601 South Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57105 postmarked on or before June 10th. Checks to be payable to: State of South Dakota VFW. Team roster forms must include the name of the player, complete address of the player, name of school attended the last school year and date of birth. If this information is incomplete, it can affect the eligibility of the player. You may list up to 25 players per team. Team insurance is mandatory and a copy is required to be file with VFW Headquarters along with your team entry form and roster.

Tournaments

A pool play or some type of double elimination will be used based on the number of teams in each class. South Dakota VFW Baseball Rules will apply for the 10 and under State Tournament.

(Entry Fee, Team Entry Form, and Team Insurance form should be postmarked on or before June 10th and sent to VFW State Headquarters. If entry fee and other information are received after June 10th or are postmarked after June 10th, the Team Entry Fee will increase by $25.00 and will be $150.00 per team. We recommend you make copies for your own records. It is required that you have your team roster and copies of the date of birth records for each player who will participate in the state tournament to be present at these games.)
